The all new Saragosa is Shimano’s answer to the increasing demand for a heavy duty saltwater reel that can handle the punishment of modern jigging and spinning techniques.
Shimano engineers were eager to replicate the quality of the highly revered Stella with the workhorse attitude of the Spheros to create a new range that bridged the gap for anglers wanting a higher quality heavy duty saltwater reel but weren’t quite ready to step-up to a Stella.
An attractive gunmetal and gold finish later, the Saragosa was born. Paladin and Propulsion technologies come as standard across the range, as well as Aero Wave and Aero Wrap oscillation systems featured in the 3000 – 8000 models and 14000 & 18000 models respectively.
All models are constructed of a light-weight aluminium frame, machine handle and graphite rotor. The spool features a titanium lip, one-piece bail and Dartanium drag system (6000 – 18000 models only).
All models feature no less than 5 SARB bearings and 1 roller bearing. The largest models have large capacity spools and are able to output over 20kg of drag, making them ideal candidates for heavy popping, jigging and gamefishing duties with braided lines.
Featuring all of Shimano’s latest innovations, it’s easy to see why the Saragosa is tipped to be a real work horse for saltwater anglers chasing Kings, Tuna and everything in between.
